1. What are cookies?

Dena (dena.nl) uses cookies and similar techniques (such as pixels and local storage). A cookie is a small file that is stored on your computer, tablet or phone by your browser when you visit our website. On a subsequent visit, that information can be read again. Among other things, cookies ensure that the webshop works properly, that your shopping cart is remembered and, with your consent, that we can measure and improve the use of the website.

On your first visit we show a cookie banner. In it you choose yourself which categories of cookies you allow. We do not place cookies for statistics or marketing and do not load the associated scripts (such as Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and the Meta pixel) before you have given consent for this via the banner. Only necessary cookies are always placed, because the website technically cannot function without them.

Refusing is just as easy with us as accepting: the banner contains equivalent buttons "Only necessary" and "Accept all", and via "Preferences" you set per category what you do and do not want.

Change or withdraw your choice at any time? At the bottom of every page you will find the link "Cookie settings". With it you reopen the preferences window and can change or withdraw your consent at any time, just as easily as you gave it.

For Google services we also use Google Consent Mode v2: only after you give consent is measurement enabled or disabled based on your choice. By default everything is off ("denied").

3. Which categories of cookies do we use?

We divide cookies into three categories. For each category you can read the purpose and the legal basis.

  • Necessary (always active): needed for the website to work, for example for your shopping cart, logging in to your account, language and currency preferences, the checkout and protection against fraud and misuse. No consent is required for this; the legal basis is the performance of the contract and our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning webshop (artikel 6 lid 1 sub b en f AVG).
  • Statistics: with these we measure anonymously how visitors use the website (which pages are viewed, for how long, via which device, where visitors drop off), so that we can improve the webshop. For this we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. We only place these cookies with your consent (artikel 6 lid 1 sub a AVG).
  • Marketing: with these we can make advertisements more relevant and measure the results of campaigns, for example via the Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram). We only place these cookies with your consent (artikel 6 lid 1 sub a AVG).

4. Third-party services

For the statistics and marketing categories we engage external parties. They process data partly on servers outside the European Economic Area (including in the United States); for that transfer appropriate safeguards are used, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

  • Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.): statistics on website use. IP addresses are processed anonymously. More information: policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation): anonymised usage statistics, heatmaps and session insights to improve usability. More information: privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.
  • Meta pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.): measuring advertisements and showing relevant advertisements on Facebook and Instagram. More information: facebook.com/privacy/policy.

In addition, our webshop is hosted by Shopify. Shopify places necessary cookies for, among other things, the shopping cart, the checkout and security. More information: shopify.com/legal/cookies.

We store your cookie choice in your browser so that we do not have to ask again on every visit. We ask for your choice again after 12 months at the latest, and sooner when our cookie statement or the cookies used change substantially. The retention periods of the individual cookies differ per cookie and per provider.

6. Managing, refusing or deleting cookies

You manage your cookie preferences most easily via the link "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. In addition, you can always block or delete cookies yourself via your browser's settings. Please note that the website may no longer work fully if you block necessary cookies.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, restriction, objection, erasure and portability of your personal data, and the right to withdraw consent given at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing). You exercise these rights via privacy@dena.nl. To prevent misuse, we may ask you to identify yourself. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
